The team is made up of versatile members that have multiple strengths which helps keep projects moving forward whether working in the office, field, locally or remote.
Michael Shevlin, Jr.PLS-Principal
Michael has been involved with construction and design since his teens. Starting out by drawing house plans for the family’s construction company and then moving on to architectural and engineering classes in high school and college, he found his true passion as a land surveyor. Prior to founding Shevlin Land Surveying, he worked as a surveyor for both public and private organizations which has given him a unique understanding of all facets of land surveying from multiple perspectives. As the oldest of 6 siblings, he takes pride in having built something that has become a true family business. When not working, he spends most of his time travelling with his daughters to their softball tournaments.
Steve RosenbushDraftsman / Survey Tech
Steve brings over 25 years of surveying and drafting experience to the company. After college, Steve has worked in the surveying and construction industry in Fairfield and New Haven counties. From field work and crew chief, excavation and site work, to calculations and drafting on many commercial and residential developments, he continues to provide experience and knowledge to our projects.
David HaighLand Surveyor Technician
David has been involved in the drafting trade since he graduated college. He has 10 years of architectural drafting experience before moving into the civil engineering and surveying field. He has worked closely with engineers to produce site and septic plans for residential and commercial properties. He has worked in the field as a survey technician with the latest surveying equipment including one man robotic total stations, 3-D laser scanners, and GPS Units. Surveying duties include subdivision maps, road asbuilts, plot plans, elevation certificates, and much more.
Jason Spath SrPLS -Land Surveyor
Jason is a licensed land surveyor with over thirty years of experience. He started in the family business and honed his skills in land surveying until eventually running his own business. Upon sale of the company he once again found his passion for land surveying. When not working he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and sunsets on the beach.
Mark ShevlinLand Surveyor Technician
Mark has been working in the land surveying profession since 2004. He specializes in boundary surveys and construction support. Mark is a licensed drone pilot. He is a family man who loves the outdoors and NY Rangers.
Katelynn ShevlinOffice Manager
Katelynn has been in the customer service field for over 10 years. She takes pride in her organization and time management. While she hasn’t been in the surveying industry for long, she is quickly learning the ins and outs to fit our client’s needs. In her free time, she enjoys raising her young family and taking trips to Vermont.
Michael ButurlaPELS-Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor
Mike has nearly 50 years of experience as a professional engineer and land surveyor. He has worked on countless projects through his time as a public employee, business owner and lead engineer. Mike is always able to find a solution to the various issues that come up before, during and after construction on projects of all sizes. In addition to his love of the professional engineering and land surveying professions, Mike takes great pride in the strong relationships he has built with clients and town officials over the years.
Sean ShevlinLand Surveyor Technician
Sean has been involved in surveying since high school. He pursued a business degree at Central Connecticut State University and later Sacred Heart University. During this time Sean worked part time surveying with the family company. After leaving school Sean worked for local firm for 5 years learning how to do larger construction projects before returning to Shevlin Land Surveying to help further the family company. When not working Sean enjoys golf and coaching hockey.
